Science and Christian Belief (S&CB) is the UK’s leading academic journal at the intersection of science and Christian faith. From 1st July 2026 the journal will move to an Open Access mode of publishing for both readers and authors!
For nearly 40 years now Science and Christian Belief has explored how Christianity connects with new ideas and discoveries in science and technology. It is an important space where new ideas around everything from genetics, bioethics, cosmology, environmental studies or broader reflections on the science/faith conversation are developed, digested and discussed.
S&CB publishes original, peer-reviewed articles, research papers, and reviews the latest books in the field. Authors, editors and reviewers are drawn from across the full range of scientific, theological and connected disciplines. Under the new Open Access policy everything, including the entire archive of the journal, will be freely available to anyone.
Alongside this, for authors publishing fresh material, Open Access status to their publications will be granted at no cost to the author. This is a key part in promoting modern academic scholarship and will provide the Church, scholars and the public with immediate access to the latest debates and conversation involving science.
S&CB will continue to maintain its historically rigorous, peer reviewed, format, ensuring that the quality of conversation and material within the journal remains at its highest academic quality, standard and reliability.
