Welcome to the latest monthly update from Christians in Science for April! We have a lot of exciting activities, events, and important news to share with our community.
CiS activities
Here are our upcoming internal activities:
- CAKE: Taking place on Friday 17th and Thursday 30th of April, online at 11am.
- Online prayer meeting: Scheduled for Wednesday, the 6th of May, online at 7pm.
- Science, Religion and the Human Future: Conflict, Collusion and Consequences: Occurring on the Tuesday 12th of May, online at 7pm.
Other events
We also want to highlight a few external events:
- Science, Faith and the Future of Humanity: Francis Collins and Nick Spencer in conversation: Happening on Monday, the 20th of April, in person in London.
- Faraday Institute Summer Course 2026: Science, Religion, and Society: Running from Monday, the 6th of July to Friday, the 10th of July, available both online and in person.
CiS news: changes to CiS membership
There are some important updates regarding changes to the CiS membership. Our community has been the heartbeat of CiS for decades. We want to continue to grow our community and after listening to members we have decided to transition to a supporter based model designed to honour our academic roots while opening doors for the next generation.
- What’s new? You can now choose a tier of support that matches the specific impact you want to have.
- What is staying the same? We will continue to produce the Science and Christian Belief Journal, monthly updates, PreCiS newsletter and put on conferences and events.
- What next? No action is needed until you hear directly from us!
Prayer point: renewal of faith
Our prayer point for this month focuses on a renewal of faith.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Corinthians 5:17
Today we pray for a fresh encounter with faith. We ask that the wonder of the Easter story moves from a familiar narrative to a transformative daily reality that guides our decisions and interactions.
